Group Booking at Kumbh Mela Camps: Yatras, Satsang Groups and Families
Bringing a yatra group, a satsang mandali or an extended family to the Kumbh? How to book Kumbh Mela camps for groups — tents together, meals, transport and snan-day planning.

Quick answer: for a group at the Kumbh Mela, book early, book all your tents in one camp so the group stays together, and agree meals, arrival times and a snan-day plan with the camp before you travel. Groups of ten or more should ask at least two to three months ahead for Amrit Snan dates. The Pulp Hotels Kumbh desk can hold adjoining tents across Deluxe, Luxury and Royal, arrange common meal times, and quote the whole group at once — you pay at the camp.

Who books Kumbh camps as a group
- Yatra groups organised by temples, mandirs and pilgrimage organisers.
- Satsang and bhajan mandalis who want to stay and sing together.
- Extended families bringing several generations for one snan.
- Office and community groups — RWAs, alumni groups, NRIs travelling together.
Step 1: Fix the dates around one snan
For the Haridwar Kumbh 2027, the Amrit Snans are 6 March, 8 March and 14 April. A group usually arrives the day before a snan and leaves the day after, which also avoids the road closures on the snan day itself. For the Nashik Simhastha, the Amrit Snans are 2 August, 31 August and 11 September 2027; for Ujjain the Simhastha runs 27 March – 27 May 2028.
Step 2: Mix tents to fit the group
Few groups are uniform. A common mix is Royal tents for elders and families with children, Luxury tents for couples, and Deluxe tents with twin beds for friends or single travellers sharing. All our tents have attached bathrooms, which matters more for a group than anything else — no queues for a shared block at 4 a.m. Our tent types guide explains each.
Step 3: Agree meals and timings
Tell the camp the group's size, any dietary needs (no onion or garlic, Jain food, plain food for elders) and when you want to eat. On snan days, ask for tea and a light breakfast before you leave and a proper meal when you return.
Step 4: Plan transport
Buses and tempo travellers cannot reach the mela area on snan days; they stop at designated outer parking. Ask the camp which parking is nearest, how far it is to walk, and whether luggage can be carried in. In Haridwar, our Daksh Dweep camp sits beside the Kumbh parking — the easiest choice for groups arriving by bus.
Step 5: A snan-day plan for the group
- Name one leader and one back-up, with phones charged and the camp desk's number saved.
- Agree a meeting point at the ghat and a time to regroup.
- Give every member a card with the camp name and two phone numbers.
- Walk together, at the pace of the slowest member, and bathe early.
Puja and karmkand for the group
Many groups want a collective puja, havan or bhandara. The desk can arrange a pandit and samagri — see our guide to puja and karmkand at the Kumbh.

Frequently asked questions
How early should a group book a Kumbh Mela camp?
At least two to three months ahead for Amrit Snan dates, and earlier for groups over twenty or for long stays.
Can our whole group stay in adjoining tents?
Yes. Book all tents in one camp through the Pulp Hotels desk and ask for them together; you can mix Deluxe, Luxury and Royal tents.
Which Haridwar Kumbh camp is best for a group arriving by bus?
Daksh Dweep in Kankhal, beside the Kumbh parking, so the walk from the bus to the camp is short.
