Hotels in Nashik — Hotel Booking and other information

Nashik sits on the Godavari in northern Maharashtra, about four hours by road from Mumbai, and draws two kinds of visitor: pilgrims bound for Panchavati and the Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga, and weekenders heading for its vineyards. Most hotels are in the newer city to the west and south of the river, while the temples and ghats are in the old town around Panchavati.

Where to stay in Nashik

Pick the area by the reason for the trip. For temple visits and the ghats, Panchavati and the old city put Ramkund, the Kalaram temple and Sita Gufa within walking distance, with simple hotels, lodges and dharamshalas. College Road, Gangapur Road and the areas near Canada Corner have the larger business hotels, restaurants and easier parking, a short auto ride from the river. Near Nashik Road railway station you will find budget rooms suited to an early train. The wineries and lake resorts lie further out along Gangapur and Trimbak roads.

Trimbakeshwar and day trips

Trimbakeshwar, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, is roughly 30 km west of the city, with buses and shared jeeps through the day; most visitors stay in Nashik and go for an early darshan. Shirdi is around 90 km away and fits in a day, as do the Pandavleni caves on the city's southern edge and, in the rains, the waterfalls along the Trimbak road.

Best time to visit Nashik

October to February is cool and dry, and the grape harvest runs from January to March. The monsoon, from late June to September, turns the hills green but brings heavy rain at Trimbakeshwar. The Simhastha Kumbh Mela, held in Nashik once in twelve years, has its main bathing days in August and September 2027, when rooms near the river book out months ahead.

Getting to Nashik

Nashik Road station has direct trains from Mumbai, Pune and north India. Ozar airport has a handful of domestic flights; many travellers fly into Mumbai and continue by road on the Mumbai–Agra highway.
